You don’t fit the mold. You’re irreverent, down-to-earth, you value transparency and a no-bullshit approach. You want a life coach training program that’s as unique as you are, with authentic instructors and fellow students who are dedicated to forging their own, unique path in the world of coaching.

As you’ve begun your journey towards becoming a powerful force for good in the world, you haven’t quite found a life coach certification that works for you. Other training programs have left you with more questions than answers. You’ve maybe even gotten certified, but you’re still left wondering how to actually launch a coaching business that FEELS like you.

You’ve already paid too much attention to the insecurities and distractions that have kept you from starting your coaching practice, and believe me, we’ve felt them ourselves:
-- What if I’m not good enough?
-- What if I can’t find clients?
-- What if I don’t have my own sh*t together?

The truth is -- those are only a few of the questions you have, and may even have no idea where to even begin but you feel the pull to become a life coach. You don’t need to struggle alone through pointless certifications and run of the mill training that left you without the practice you want or the support you need to succeed.

What if there was an easier way to launch your practice within the year?

What if you didn’t have to reinvent the wheel and build your practice on your own?

What if there was a program as vibrant and unique as you and the goals you have?

The next cohort of The Catalyst Intensive begins October 21st, 2018, and runs for 16 consecutive weeks. Continue 2018 with a renewed understanding of your goals, and a fresh slate to build your coaching practice.

The Catalyst Coaching Intensive is an eye-opening, one-of-a-kind life coach training program where YOU get to shine. You’ll work alongside outrageously supportive coaches in all phases of life coaching and will be celebrated for exactly who you are right now as you become a life coach.

This is the start of something big. We believe the combination of coaching and community can heal. We believe in the power of your story. We believe in transparency and building real relationships across the globe.

Irreverent Gamechangers

We get asked a lot about that word "irreverent," and what it means to the Catalyst Coaching Intensive. It represents the kind of vibrant, live-out-loud spirit we embody as an organization and look for in our potential coaches.

We seek to dismantle the systems that hold each of us back unfairly.
We create opportunities for everyone to succeed.

We leave the status quo behind.
We commit to creating a life we truly love.

We won't be bound by the expectations that were set for us before we were even born.
We write our own roadmaps and make our own future.

We are hungry for more and commit to living life to the fullest, whatever that looks like for each of us.

Our program is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF), the only globally recognized, independent credentialing program for coach practitioners, via their CCE program (Continuing Coach Education). "The Catalyst Coaching Intensive surpassed my expectations. Here's why: first, it provided a great theoretical foundation, teaching me various coaching approaches and the reasons why they are effective. Second, it gave me many opportunities to actually practice coaching. And finally, even after completing the Intensive, I've continued to receive support from JRNI with additional education, help marketing and developing my business as a coach, and an extremely supportive Facebook group of Catalyst Coaching Intensive graduates."

"I didn’t expect to come into such a welcoming community of unique people around the world, but I’m so happy I did. I learned so much about myself, my life coaching style, my niche, and even more about community and acceptance. Catalyst Coaching Intensive taught me about the art of questioning, coaching techniques, mirroring other coach-to-client sessions, and most importantly the art of listening. I’ve seen myself grow into my true and highest self, and can now use that to positively impact others and use skills I didn’t have before to focus on getting my clients excited about their future. It’s just a huge bonus that the Intensive is a community that offers 24/7 connection with other coaches and students around the world."

What are the advantages of training with JRNI?

JRNI offers science-backed, evidence-based life coach training that is deeply rooted in positive psychology. Our program is entirely online and lasts 20 weeks, which includes live weekly coach training, exposure to a wide variety of methods and techniques, and business development.

We are not just a training program but a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive community of coaches who are committed to bettering ourselves and the world. Your journey doesn’t end when your training does, JRNI offers lifetime support, live events, real world experience and a solid foundational community to uplift and support you as you reach your own goals.

JRNI is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF), the only globally recognized, independent credentialing program for coach practitioners, via their CCE program (Continuing Coach Education). When you graduate from our program you will be awarded 36 CCE credits towards ICF certification or renewal.

We often tell people that this isn’t a life coaching program, it’s a life changing program. We say this because we’ve seen it time and time again and we can’t wait for you to experience it for yourself.

Do I have what it takes to become a coach?

A great coach is someone who is passionate about helping others, inspired by the wide breadth of human possibility, and able to help others stoke the potential within themselves. Good coaches are devoted to the growth of their clients and to always learning and growing. We believe that a successful coach can come from almost any background.

People bring their whole selves to coaching -- their story, their history, their experiences, unique talents and beliefs -- and create a practice that is as unique as they are. Our graduates also have come from all different backgrounds -- therapists, executives, managers, HR professionals, fitness experts, influencers, stay at home dads, mothers looking to re-enter the workforce, nurses, yoga instructors and hundreds more.

The thing our people have in common is a strong desire to improve themselves and a calling to do this work. They often tell us that they’ve been coaching informally and having these conversations for years, and now want to take it to the next level with professional training and support.

If you feel the pull to do this, then you are probably in the right place! Let’s schedule a call to talk more about your goals and how JRNI can help you.

Is this program Certified by the International Coaching Federation?

Yes! Our program is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF), the only globally recognized, independent credentialing program for coach practitioners, via their CCE program (Continuing Coach Education). When you graduate from our program you will be awarded 36 CCE credits towards ICF certification or renewal. The ICF is a non-profit, professional organization and their mission is to build, support and preserve the integrity of the coaching profession.

That being said, coaching is an emerging and unregulated field. There are quite a few organizations who have set up very good professional standards (that we teach and adhere to) and many organizations that certify coaches in a specific technique or school of thought. There are athletic coaches, executive coaches, health coaches, life coaches and so many more.

At the Catalyst Life Coaching Intensive we train life coaches to work and build practices in the wellness marketplace. We certify that all of our coaches have been trained in our evidence-based technique and are theoretically, relationally and ethically qualified to work as coaches. Our training is grounded in adaptive therapeutic change technique, goal setting theory, the science of positive psychology, and much more. Beyond theory you will learn everything you need to know to coach, from theories and concepts to branding and marketing.

How does JRNI define life coaching?

Life coaching is a partnership between a coach and a client that moves the client forward to become the best version of him or herself through the application of motivation, accountability, planning, troubleshooting and support.

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

As a coach, one of the questions that you will have to learn how to comfortably address is what is the difference between coaching and therapy. Therapy is focused on bringing people from suffering to baseline. Therapy deals more with behavioral or emotional problems, disruptive situations and works to bring clients towards normal function by healing disfunction.

Coaching is focused on bringing people from baseline to flourishing. Coaching helps functional people achieve higher goals and achieve excellence while creating their ideal life. The main focus remains on flourishing, and creating the future. Coaching is client led, and the topics and issues the client brings to the conversation sets the context as coaching or therapy.

The Intensive focuses on coaching, and we will teach you how to know the difference and how to refer out clients who need therapy instead of coaching.

What does it take to become a successful life coach?

Passion, work, and desire to help others. Like everything worth having, that’s what it takes to become a successful life coach. Life coaching is a legitimate, exciting and emerging career path.

But everyone has their own definition of success. For some, it’s a full practice. For others, it’s a side gig. For others, it’s something to add to their current job or a way into speaking, book deals, etc. You have to determine what success looks like for you. But yes, it’s possible and graduates of our program have found many ways to parlay coaching skills into success.

What if I currently have a full-time job, do I need lots of time for the Intensive?

Most people who become life coaches have a full-time job. The Intensive is designed to be taken while you are continuing your life, which includes a full-time job. That’s why class is on Sundays and you can work through all the material on your own time. All the materials are hosted online permanently on your Student Portal.

When is the best time to begin the Intensive?

There’s no perfect time to begin this incredible journey, it’s more about what’s right for you. If this is something you’ve been thinking about for a while, you just have to let go and start the journey. You’ll figure out everything else.
Overthinking and fear will always prevent you from making a difference in this world, if you let them. The best time is now. Really. If you’re reading this, it’s been brewing inside you. No more waiting. So many wait because they think they have to be at a better place in their life or have “their sh*t together.” That’s not true. Co-founder John Kim helped thousands when he was at the lowest point in his life. If you’re passionate about becoming a life coach, do it now.

How do I enroll?

Your first step is to book a call with someone on our admissions team, who will answer any questions you might have. If you feel ready to begin your journey, they will help you select which cohort to join.

How long is the program?

There are 20 weeks of live instruction, held on Sundays mornings Pacific Time. After you complete the 20 weeks, you will be a full fledged member of the JRNI Coaching Community. You are also always invited to retake the classes as many times as you like, and benefit from the additional training and opportunities we are always adding to the Intensive.

Will JRNI help me find clients?

JRNI works to provide students and alumni with plenty of practice opportunities via our live event appearances such as Wanderlust Festivals and SXSW, where we offer free sessions to members of the public. We’re the only life coaching platform that offers our community free sessions from our newly graduated catalysts. You'll also get your own beautiful profile page in our directory to help attract clients, and have the opportunity to be published on our blog. We also post job board listings and pass along coaching job opportunities as they are presented to us.

JRNI provides evidence-based training and also the business tools and community support to build your practice. This isn’t an overnight process, this is the beginning of building something that lasts and it’s important to understand that when you begin to think about expectations around getting clients.

Who do I coach?

During the  Intensive, you will decide on a niche, your own speciality. JRNI will provide you with your own Coach Profile Page. We will push you out into our community through live events and real world experiences.  People will read about you through your JRNI profile, social media and your blog posts. Those who gravitate toward you, your story, and what area of life you coach in, will be the people you coach.

Of course, that's only the beginning.  Your coaching skills also enhance your current skill-set and abilities, and you will find ways to use coaching as a skill at your current job. You will also coach people in your own offline communities. Friends, family, co-workers. As you grow as a coach and as a brand, you will throw bigger nets, attracting more and more people.

How do I find my niche?

You will specialize in an area of life, depending on what you’re passionate about. Usually it’s tied to your story and what you’ve overcome and grown through. But you won’t be locked into it as our niches and specialties change as we change and grow.  At the end of the day, you’ll coach people in anything you’re passionate about. That being said, everything overlaps so just because your niche is relationships doesn’t mean you won’t be talking about other things like life transitions, family, etc. Your “type” of coaching is just a way to market and brand yourself. There is no limit when it comes to the content of the session. You’ll coach your clients on what they need coaching on and what you feel confident in coaching.

Can I become a coach if I still have sh*t to deal with in my own life?

This is one of the greatest misconceptions about life coaching, that you have to be perfect or have your “sh*t” together to help others. This is completely false. Yes, you have to be able to get out of bed and hold a conversation, but you don’t have to be a perfect person at the top of your life game with every single thing going perfectly.

Co-founder John Kim was going through a divorce and starting his life all over when he started coaching people. All you need to life coach someone is a passion to help others, training, a strong community and a story. We all have a story that can help others, so we’re here to help you with the rest of it.

Do I have to become a professional coach or do coaching skills apply in other fields?

Many of our graduates choose to apply what they’ve learned at JRNI to their existing full time positions and found that satisfying on a number of levels. Our training enhances your current skill set and gives you new tools to utilize in your current role. Therapists, HR professionals, nurses, teachers, social workers -- all of these people have found our training useful in elevating their existing skills and for assuming leadership positions within their organizations.

Major companies spend a great deal on executing coaching, so your training can benefit the organizations that you are already working alongside. There are countless opportunities for professionals to use coaching techniques and many people who utilize these skills don’t call themselves coaches.

Is the program 100% online?

Yes. The training portion of the Intensive is entirely online, which means you have the freedom and flexibility you need. We also host real world events and gather together at SXSW each year, but these retreats are optional. We use video conferencing to host our live, real time, online classes. They are interactive and you can see and talk to everybody in the class. Our classes typically take place on Sundays mornings (Pacific Time). We always post recordings of all class sessions. Everything is done online from the comfort of your own home or on the go.

What if I miss a class?

Our alumni are welcome to retake any class as many times as they like. If you miss a section or we add to the curriculum, take it again!

What can I expect to accomplish by the end of this course?

You will graduate the Catalyst Intensive with coaching competency, confidence, and a road map to build your practice. You will also receive 36 CCE units to apply towards ICF certification if you so choose. You will join our incredible community of alumni and have the opportunity to write and coach as part of the Catalyst Coaching Collective at our live events, gain access to our job board and ongoing partner.

What is the cost of the program?

Many coach training programs are triple the price of our course. We keep our tuition low because our mission is to knock down as many barriers as we can for passionate people who want to help others. That includes financial barriers. That is why we offer our entire 20-week training program, personalized support and certification in our methods for a tuition of $3,995 with several long-term payment plan options.

We believe the Catalyst Coaching Intensive is an investment in yourself and in your future. Our graduates are working in a wide variety of different fields, using their coaching skills not only as professional coaches but to supplement skills and careers they are already invested in.

We are so much more than a coach training program, we are a company built by coaches for coaches, and we invest equally in every coach that we train. We are leaders in the life coaching marketplace and in the world of wellness. We are looking for passionate, vibrant people that we can invest in; we are not looking to churn unprepared people through a training program and toss them out into the cold. We want our coaches to become rock stars in their own right and achieve their goals.

What is your refund policy?

We believe in the value our program provides to all of our students. We offer a 7-day refund policy after the first live class. If for any reason you are dissatisfied (although we’re sure you’ll love it), we will offer you a full refund, minus any non-refundable deposits.

What are my financing options for the Intensive?

We want everyone to have the opportunity to join us on this life-changing journey.  We offer multiple payment plan options to assist those in varying financial situations. Please contact or schedule a call with one of our team members for more information on our payment plans and how we can help you achieve your goals.

The next cohort of The Catalyst Intensive begins October 21st, 2018, and runs for 16 consecutive weeks. Continue 2018 with a renewed understanding of your goals, and a fresh slate to build your coaching practice.
