Coaching with me is like having a thought-provoking, motivated planner who guides you into disrupting the habits that no longer serve you. I will be able to open your mind, to access the courage, to dig deep into your thoughts that will see the truth in your story, and then together, with accountability and patience we will discover the bravery that is inside you to create healthy boundaries and forgiveness within yourself and others.
Growing up in separated homes, I struggled to survive. I began to build abandonment issues and self-doubt, all at the same time trying to figure out who I was from the definition that others defined me as. I started life living with my biological mother and visiting my father every other weekend from the age of three to nine. At that time, my mother was then unable to care for me and my twin sister, so she dropped us off at the corner of my father’s street on Christmas day and said, “Sorry. I can’t do this anymore.” Living with my father and his new wife, I endured an environment of verbal, physical, and emotional abuse from my step-mother. From her actions, I created a new definition of survival and the habit of manipulation that haunted me for years.
So many obstacles. So many detours. So many lessons. So much re-defining of my identity and constantly battling an overwhelming feeling of abandonment and worthlessness. Yet, I emerged triumphantly. Then came the revelation of knowing that I am gay sent me on a roller- coaster of emotions, I realized the life I had been living was due to the fear of actually living my true life. I began to tackle situations with hope and that hope for survival led me to join the military at 19, right out of high school.
I spent 24 years in the military learning to lead others, motivate my peers, and to stand up for myself. I learned how to tweak the words I say to myself, which, in return, promotes positive thought. It took me a century to develop a healthier mindset. And along the way, I realized my passion and mission in life was to help others who struggle to become the best versions of themselves. I have endured and conquered journeys of self-doubt, body image issues, sexual identity, the definition of self, hell my list can go on and on.
I am here to offer to guide others just like you in finding a life worth fighting for. I offer an ear, a shoulder, and powerful tools to support you through your search for personal growth. I work through a three-step process of Gratitude, Thought, and Group (GTG) to build new stories and strategies of empowerment and confidence.
"Tammy is such an amazing person, whenever I have discussed things with her, she's really understood what I'm trying to say and helps me to make sense of my very often confused mind, she really helps to bring out my own answers to questions I have, she doesn't try to influence you, but helps to guild you through your thought process and bring about a better understanding of yourself and the situation. Things become a lot clearer. I always feel how much Tammy genuinely cares and how much she wants to help me bring peace and calm to my life. I love how honest she is and how open she is about her own life, which helps to make her so relatable. I always feel at ease talking to her, it's just like talking to someone you've known for years, she just has a way of making you really start to believe in yourself, because she believes in you. I have a great deal of love and respect for Tammy and will be forever grateful for her guidance, which got me through a very difficult part of my life." -Taylor G.
